Our Story Honouring Country. Inspiring a Movement.

Ethical Uniforms with Aboriginal Art

Rooted in Country.

Worn with Pride.

The story of Walkabout Clothing begins with culture, connection, and a dream to reshape school wear across Australia.

Meet the Founders

At the Heart of Walkabout Clothing

Walkabout Clothing was founded by Adam, a proud First Nations man, and Lisa, a vibrant First Nations woman, both deeply connected to Bundjalung Country across Northern New South Wales and South East Queensland. Their shared love of land, culture, and community is the heartbeat of everything we do.

Fuelled by their adventurous spirits and a powerful vision, Adam and Lisa set out to build something bigger than just a clothing brand—they set out to build a movement of cultural pride and inclusivity through wearable storytelling.

More Than a Name—

It’s a Journey

The Spirit of ‘Walkabout’

‘Walkabout’ is more than just a word. It reflects a timeless cultural practice—where young First Nations men would embark on transformative journeys across Country, growing in strength, identity, and connection.

This spirit of exploration, resilience, and personal growth is woven into every garment we create. At Walkabout Clothing, every stitch tells a story—of past, present, and a shared future.

The Business Model

Creating Culture Through Clothing

Walkabout Clothing fuses traditional Aboriginal art and modern design to create a fashion-forward, story-rich uniform line for schools nationwide.

This is a line created by and for the people of this land—designed to be inclusive, proud, and full of purpose. We believe Indigenous fashion deserves a place in everyday Australian life, especially in schools where future generations are formed.

Our model is built around collaboration—with schools, students, and local Indigenous artists—to create garments that don’t just represent a school or workplace, but tell a story.

Giving Back

Collaborating for Impact

From the very beginning, Walkabout Clothing has been about community. We work directly with local artists and encourage schools to incorporate student artwork into their uniforms. Each collaboration is an opportunity to spark pride, education, and connection—to Country, to story, and to each other.
